Edward T. Walton was found guilty of 2 counts of murder that occurred in April of 2004 when he was a juvenile (18 yrs. of age). he has currently served 18 years of incarceration on 2 natural life sentences.

Mr. Walton if pardon on the 2 natural life sentences will have a remainder of 23 to 40 years that he will still have to serve. He is prepared and willing to serve this 23 to 40 to show the government and the people of Michigan that he is willing to prove the mistakes in his past are behind him and that he will have been earned his way back to freedom.

(Incarceration history)

Since incarceration Mr. Walton started his prison sentence off rough, being young and adolescent minded. He viewed his life through hopeless lenses which kept him on a downward spiral with several trips to segregation. However, in 2010, laying the floor in his cell after a bout with depression, this left him unwilling to eat which caused his system to shut down. He had a dream that would revitalize and shape the new course of his life.
In 2016 he had his first and only interview (that lifers are allowed) with the Michigan parole board. It was at that interview that the completion of his journey was recognized, and the next chapter of his life would begin, the one as an adult human being. He gives the credit of saving his life first to God and second to the Michigan parole board member who showed him how not to give up on hope and faith and the possibility of being a free man once again.
Since that parole board interview in 2016 Mr. Walton has only been to segregation twice. once for " incite to riot" for his participation in a letter that was sent by prisoners to the attorney general’s office complaining about the horrid conditions at Chippewa correctional facility. An 2nd for refusing to be placed in a different housing unit during the outbreak of the covid 19 virus.
Mr. Walton has completed all sorts of classes (view certificates online). Mr. Walton has helped several men navigate their way through prison and return home to their families. He is currently seeking degrees at the international Christian college and seminary to be able to receive a license that will allow him to return to the prisons and juveniles to minister to the men, women and children, in hopes of helping them find the same kind of hope that was giving to him.
Mr. Walton is also seeking a degree from Adams state university in associates of science with a business emphasis that he hopes to have completed by the time he visits the parole board. If giving a chance to have the 2 natural life sentences removed from his record giving him a second chance at life, He has also started a nonprofit for military veterans, a real estate company, released music through his label from prison and started a feed the homeless drive called (moms).

(A thank you from Mr. Walton)

Let me First Say Thank God for allowing me to be a different man from the child I was at the beginning of my incarceration. I was recruited into the gang lifestyle at 9 years old and believed for so long in my life that I would die young. I pray to be forgiving by God, my family, the victim’s family and the people of Michigan, an while I cannot bring back the lives that were lost, the taking of my life does not change or help anyone, but the saving of my life could help change many lives in the future and I am just asking for the chance to right my wrongs... Thank you
