The PogChamp, or poggers, emote on Twitch is a staple of recent Gen Z and gamer culture. The removal of the emote has left many confused, and rightfully so. Twitch has officially stated that they deleted the emote because some users have used it with statements "encouraging further violence" after the riot at the U.S. Capitol. The emote has nothing to do with this riot specifically, as it was not created for this purpose. Poggers is a celebratory word used by many Twitch users and non-Twitch individuals to express a sense of excitment. Many do not even know who the man in the emote is, so why ban it while technically saying his face is encouraging violence? So please, Twitch... bring back the PogChamp emote. It will be a truly pog moment for gamers everywhere.
