Save the Twin Lakes INDIANS

Save the Twin Lakes INDIANS
The Issue
Indians are warriors, with pride, respect and honor. They are the foundation of our amazing community. As our mascot, we are honoring those Indians who fought like warriors. They fought for the beliefs of their tribes, just as our Twin Lakes Indians fight on and off the field for the beliefs of our school and community. This community stands behind our school, the children who attend, the adults who have since graduated, as well as the teachers and staff.
If our school system even considered an INDIAN in a derogatory manor, Meadowlawn Elementary would have never honored students with a BRAVO BRAVE AWARD, which is given to students for going above and beyond in the classroom.
What about the numerous kids who won band competitions, choir performances, basketball games, as well as all the kids taking pride in their educational experience as a TWIN LAKES INDIAN? Our Indian is a symbol of strength, pride and respect for generations of Twin Lakes Alumni and future alumni.
Please help us preserve our history by signing this petition to keep our Twin Lakes Indians Mascot.
Sincerely,
Nikki and Josh (1993 TL graduate) Diggs
