Keep Tweed Heads Nice. Remove campers and overnight camping from Rainbow Bay + Duranbah

Keep Tweed Heads Nice. Remove campers and overnight camping from Rainbow Bay + Duranbah
The issue
We want campers and over night camping removed from the Tweed Heads area of Point Danger, Duranbah Hill, Duranbah Beach and Jack Evans Boat Harbour. They are taking over the area. They are littering, the areas smell of human urine from urinating on the sidewalks. It is unsanitary, illegal and destroying the beautiful area of Tweed Heads in Rainbow Bay.
There are signs in place, yet all the parking and nice areas listed above are filled with campers that stay all day, limiting others from enjoying Tweed Heads due to parking, and over night camping because council refuses to have council workers remove them. Most of the campers have been there for months. Council simply needs to enforce this law.
This is an area for everyone to enjoy and to feel safe and comfortable. Especially local families and local people who pay rates and who work hard contributing to the local community and economy.
Tweed Heads is a beautiful area that locals, families and tourists enjoy for it’s clean beaches, clean picnic area and safe environment. With all these camping and overnight camping it is destroying the cleanliness, safety and beauty of Tweed Heads.
Not to mention this is a holiday area. There are people with holiday homes/units, camp grounds that are struggling for tourist business during this time. If you want to visit the Tweed Heads area of Rainbow Bay support your local holiday areas and do so legally!
If you love Tweed Heads Rainbow Bay area and care about your local community please sign!
