“Over many hundreds of years, countless soldiers, soldiers and airmen have given their lives to keep this nation strong and secure. They all fought under, and carried, our Union flag. Indeed many of the sons of Andover gave their lives, and have had their war memorial tucked away out of sight and out of mind for far too long. What kind of an insult is it to our fallen to have lost their war memorial to a quiet corner of a churchyard and to have our national flag flown reluctantly on a few days of the year. I deplore the actions of Ian Carr and his sad group of followers who stop our flag from being flown daily. Why are they so ashamed to fly our flag? Please keep signing the petition. When it reaches 2000 I will present it to TVBC on behalf of Andover.”
