Wow. Double wow. Last night's County Council meeting and vote on Hilton Head National's rezoning was awesome! So many people showed up that a second room with a monitor had to be set up. It was packed! So did we win? YES!!! After hours of wonderful public comments followed by a weak appeal by the developer it went to vote. The final vote was 9-2. The only two councilman to ask for approval were Brian Flewelling and Rick Caporale. Brian in particular was the biggest proponent often speaking in a obnoxiously loud voice as he tried his best to delay the vote until a future date. Hopefully you can see for yourself if you go to the video of the meeting on the County Council website. It was ridiculous! On the lighter side, Chuck Dolce, owner of Accurate Lithography Printing Company in Bluffton offered FREE printing to anyone willing to run against any council member that voted for the project. But even with this win we have to watch these folks because they will be back...guaranteed. We have something going here so let's stay together and I promise to keep you up to date.
