I know you all are wondering why you haven't gotten any updates and that is because I haven't been privy to any new news regarding what is going on. I do know this, some sort of development agreement was proposed. More importantly, a meeting is scheduled for May 4th but it still remains to be seen whether the public will be allowed to attend. This worries me a lot and you should be concerned too. My opinion is this should all be out in the open so I am asking EVERY ONE OF YOU to e-mail County Council chairman Paul Sommerville (psommerville@bcgov.net), Rick Caporale (rcapole@bcgov.net) and Tabor Vaux (tvaux@bcgov.net) asking that the May 4th meeting be open to the public. I realize these folks are elected officials but this project is simply too large and too over the top for decisions on its size and scope to be decided behind closed doors. With thousands of people on this petition and so much at stake, transparency should be a given. Take five minutes and e-mail them, especially Paul Sommerville!
