As we are approaching Christmas, time of peace and giving, there are thousands of street dogs abused daily in Turkey. What makes it even worse is that this abuse happens in goverment “ shelters“. In most countries we have learned to look at shelters as a stop gap, where abandoned animals hopefully get the second chance they so desperately need. Not so in Turkey  where once a dog ends up in goverment shelter, they endure a slow and painful death after being beaten up, denied food and water or any kind of medical care. Other option is them to be loaded in a van and dumped in the mountains to die. There is no dignified euthanasia, the lucky ones die quickly in the hands of their abusers. The not so lucky ones, suffer for days or weeks before dying. 

in this shelter there are over 700 dogs waiting to be killed and more will follow as it has been announcent that strays are to be collected off the streets and placed in these kill shelters.
  
When you choose to go on a holiday and spend your hard earned cash, please be aware of the suffering inflicted on street animals in your chosen destination. 

Please share this far and wide, this daily abuse of these innocent animals must come to an end ! Vaccinating and neutering these animals is the only way forward.
