Every day, Tumblr users are being harassed. Without a blocking feature, like ones available on other social media sites, there's very little that a victim can do about it. The current "ignore" feature does very little to address the problem -- an "ignored" user can still follow the victim's blog and reblog their posts.

We know from other social media outlets how easy it is to enable a proper blocking feature. Users on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other sites can easily block other users. Tumblr appears to be an outlier among other top social media sites.

Adding an effective blocking feature is important for the millions of Tumblr users around the world who are being harassed and bullied, yet left with very little they can do to stop it.
