Create website that allows students/faculty to see daily updates of COVID cases at Tulane

The Issue

Transparency between students/faculty and university administration is essential, especially amid a pandemic. Although Tulane has been going the extra mile (compared to many other colleges) in trying to keep everyone safe and to keep the numbers of COVID-19 cases under control, many students and faculty are still very stressed about being back on campus in-person and feel that more measures could be taken to improve the sense of safety around COVID-19.

Notre Dame created a website where students and faculty can see daily updates on the total number of people tested and the number of people who have tested positive. If you would like to see how the site is designed, go to https://here.nd.edu/our-approach/dashboard/

I believe Tulane can easily implement a system like this, as they are already testing students weekly (meaning the university has tests scheduled every day from Monday-Sunday) and are supposedly updating everyone weekly on how many COVID-19 tests have been distributed and how many of those tests were positive. With people testing each day, there should be no issue in updating the numbers every 24 hours, as that is how long the results take. I, along with many other students, believe that this would be the best way for everyone to feel more comfortable and safe on campus.
