TTC Safety - Act Now to Protect the TTC Commuters and Staff

TTC Safety - Act Now to Protect the TTC Commuters and Staff
The Issue
There has been a large increase in random violent crime on the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). The protection of the staff and the 1.7 million commuters is essential for the TTC services to continue. In 2022, the TTC Service Notices reported that the number of security incidents jumped from 60 in January 2021 to 156 in April 2022.
You see it on the news - Women on TTC targeted and set on fire, TTC Commuter punched in the Face and Knocked Unconscious, 1 Person dead, another Injured after Stabbing on TTC. Anyone can fall victim to these random acts of violence.
As a result, it is evident that more pressure needs to be put on the Toronto Mayor, John Tory, and the TTC CEO, Richard J. Leary, to bring a real solution for reducing these violent crimes by revising and improving the TTC safety protocols.
Share the message and spread the word. If nothing changes, random acts of violence will continue, and more people will feel the deterioration of the TTC safety conditions. Please sign the following petition to let the Toronto Mayor and the TTC Board of Commissions know that their safety protocols have to be improved to protect the millions of staff and commuters.
