I propose all Semis and Trucks with a DOT number to be required to have a CB installed in the vehicle for use. We as a nation have gotten too lax with cell phones and technology as a whole, and no matter what anyone says, a CB radio is still of use. It has the ability to contact emergency services, give warning to other drivers about issues that may not yet be reported ahead on the road, and can give you weather alerts. It can also warn if a police officer or other obstruction or emergency is in front of you so you have ample time to move out of the way to keep from getting a ticket. Someone that is new to the area can shout for directions to a shipper or reciever or even to find a place to rest. Finally, although not common, if a trucker needs or wants to talk to someone they can. We travel alot of miles in a day and yes we may have our phones but maybe noone to talk to back home. Although technology has come a long way, not always will a trucker have cell service where they are at, and a CB can resolve that. They may have been a huge thing in the past but that doesnt mean they have to die, because they still have use!!
