Publicly Acknowledge and Implement Demands of TrinSurvivors

The Issue

It's been a little under two weeks since we made our account, @TrinSurvivors, in this short time we've realized that a page for airing grievances alone is not enough, we need change. The sad truth is that many more of us than you may think spend the majority of the year coexisting in the same space as our assailants, Trinity College. This ends now.

We've taken our time to create a tangible list of demands addressing the shortcomings of Trinity's Title IX (also on our Instagram page!). By signing this petition you are giving a voice to survivors, allowing us to have a say in a process that is so critical to our wellbeing and existence on campus. There is profound value in policy changes written by survivors, for survivors.

We are a collective of survivors with different backgrounds, stories, and aspirations. Thankfully for these demands, we were able to collaborate with survivors with legal backgrounds. Survivors in Title IX classes and committees. Survivors who do not underestimate the importance of due process but believe it is our turn to write our history and our rules.

We demand that Trinity College, or a party representing the College, publicly acknowledge the demands listed in this petition and thoroughly detail the ways in which the college will be addressing them. Furthermore, we demand that the College publicly commits, and remains committed, to fostering a campus environment that does not tolerate any and all forms of sexual misconduct.
