Remove Skill-Based Matchmaking: Make Call of Duty fun again
The Issue
Call of Duty has always been a fun way to ignore your days problems by just having fun with friends in a casual, enjoyable lobby of running and gunning action.
Now that the competitive gaming scene has grown so much, Treyarch has decided to force everyone on their servers to be as competitive as possible, when in reality, people are really just playing this game to have a good time. This can’t happen when everyone is treating this game as though it’s a life or death situation.
The pregame lobbies have grown increasingly toxic, people are spreading hate and being ugly to each other, when they really are just having a hard time enjoying something they shelled out $60 for. I understand that this is a shooter, but what I don’t understand is why the makers of this series have removed an entire playlist and area in the game specifically designed for competition, while everyone else gets to just casually enjoy the game in playlists made for them.
I’m not trying to be a pro at this game. I’ve just always enjoyed the series, and now I can’t because people are being forced to take it so seriously just to do well in one single game. Give the really good, competitive people a ranked area to battle it out. Let us normal players enjoy our casual gameplay and get on with our lives that aren’t centered around video games.
