To allow the Mike Brown mural at S. Broad and E. Hanover to stay up.

The Issue

This mural is a remembrance of a young life that was taken too soon in a tragic shooting. His life represents the lives of young black men all over the country, including the Trenton community, who are painted as criminal and inherently dangerous by virtue of their race. The mural is intended to serve as a statement asserting the value of all life, no matter race, gender, sexuality, or appearance. To take down this mural makes those involved in it's removal complicit in this young man's murder, and the murder of other young black men across this country who have been unfairly targeted for their race. This mural is intended to serve as a representation of solidarity and respect for the Brown family and the community of Ferguson, MO, and for the demand for equal justice and fair treatment of all people.
