I am a student at Queen Mary university of London, and I am a wheelchair user. I want to start a petition for TFL to make changes to Mile End station and create step free access. It is an underground station located near a university with thousands of students, but it does not have step free access. The closest step free access stations are Stratford and Canary wharf, which are a lengthy, inconvenient(especially during rush hour) bus journey away. I have met many who face similar difficulties, and sometimes more than I do. I am physically very active; I manage to get around places, but there are people in more restricted situations where even using a bus could be complicated and sometimes not always possible.
