Hello All

Over the past few days I have been touching base with various Chelsea & Battersea groups, RBKC councillors, and numerous local individuals I know. I also had a one-to-one meeting this morning with the MP Greg Hands to let him know the latest campaign news in detail.

I have discovered that there is a very strong desire for me to keep the campaign going and this page up-dated, so I am happy to confirm that I will be doing just that.

There is still so much that needs to happen before TFL installs the Green Man crossing on Battersea Bridge, so it seems crazy for me to "Declare Victory" right now and simply move on.

Also, there are many other challenges ahead to ensure that the western and northern arms of the Cheyne Walk crossroads are made safe. I do not think that these plans are going to be exactly straight forward. Hence, I plan to stay on top of it all and keep everyone informed.

I will continue to post up-dates with reports of meetings and key developments. Above all, I hope that I can continue to be an 'honest broker' between the various groups - the public, the council, and TFL. I have no political allegiances whatsoever in all this and I will remain entirely independent in my communications with petition supporters, regardless of my wishes as a local resident.

I'd like to take this opportunity to extend a sincere Thank You to two key local groups - The Chelsea Society and Cheyne Walk Trust. Their members have been strong supporters of the campaign from the outset, which has been greatly appreciated.

If you prefer not to get 'Update' emails, I am told by Change that there are several 'Unsubscribe' options in the footer of the emails you receive. I appreciate that we all get inundated with emails, so NO offence taken if you want to move on. Thank You for your support...but, of course, I would prefer that you stay!

As Battersea Bridge has been somewhat of a focus of late - and looks like being so for the foreseeable future - I am adding a photo of it in all its glory. I took this snap early this morning. This Bridge may well be considered the ugly sibling (woke for "sister") to Albert Bridge, but I admire it nonetheless. (RM/26/02/20)
