Atualização do abaixo-assinadoMAKE BATTERSEA BRIDGE SAFE TO CROSSTFL's One Way is still the only way

TFL had a works team on Battersea Bridge today to add a stack of pavement stickers for the One Way system that has been in place for months to encourage covid social distancing.

I had asked Andy Byford to discontinue this system because it creates a bottle neck of pedestrians and forces people to cross at the most dangerous point on the north side. It seems an utterly crazy system to have at such a place, but I guess you cannot win every battle.

A two-man team spent the morning laying out a multitude of varying signs. Apparently, the last lot that were only laid a few days ago were reduced to litter because the paving was so cold the glue did not take. I doubt the new stickers will last long either, but I accept that this idea is being rolled out with good intentions. (Still no developments on sweeping away the years-old litter on the bridge. Pavement stickers that come off are skilfully adding to the pile!).

In other news...

It has felt remiss of me to not make a note of special thanks to a tight circle of Jack Ryan's closest friends who have been a source of keen support for the campaign behind the scenes. There has also been massive public support from Jack's workmates at PwC - Price Waterhouse Cooper.

So many of them, some from offices all over the world, rallied behind the campaign from the earliest days, most notable on Twitter. They are clearly a tight bunch at PwC, who thought the world of Jack. I have hugely appreciated their support and offer a sincere Thank You to them all. (RM/25/2/20)
