Like many parents, we are increasingly concerned about our children's lack of physical activity, especially due to the prolonged indoor periods during smoky summers and snowy winters. Our community, our children need places to engage in sports, hone their skills, and simply, play. We request the transformation of the unused Costco building into an indoor sports facility with turf fields.

Turning the vacant space into a sports facility would permit year-round sporting activities, ensuring our young ones are active, healthy and happy even during intense weather conditions. It is crucial to note that a lack of physical activity among children is linked to an increased risk of obesity and poor mental health (source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

Moreover, this transformation would provide a significant economic boost for our city. The facility could host tournaments, drawing in teams—and in turn revenue—from outside the city.
