The World Bank estimates that transportation and logistics costs account for 14% of India's GDP, higher than many other countries, largely due to poor road infrastructure. Enhancing road quality is not just a matter of convenience—it's an economic imperative.
Moreover, the statistics regarding road safety in India are alarming. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, in 2019 alone, over 449,000 accidents were reported, with poor road conditions being a significant contributing factor. Although the government has initiated road development projects, the pace of improvement is not enough to meet the demands of a rapidly urbanizing population.
To address these challenges, it is crucial to implement a multi-faceted strategy.
