This petition is about the recent changes to the bus services in barnoldswick and earby, and all over east Lancs

This is from the Barnoldswick and Earby side of things as I am not aware of the full situation from others part of Lancashire, please message me and I will add the other issues as a update.

I have contacted Andrew Stevenson in hope that he will be able to have influence but I thought this was worth a go as well

I currently work in Colne and there is no longer a bus for me and my colleagues to get when we finish at 8pm until 9:20pm and if we finish at 10pm then they have cut that completely. I think that this is outrageous as I do not want to be standing outside the crown hotel on a night or having to pay for a taxi. Because of this fact I know 6 people that have had to either quit there job or take a cut in hours, I have had to do this and therefore I have lost 7 hours a week which is 28 a month which is a massive chunk of my wage, which works out at the cost of my bus pass.

The other problem that we are having is in Earby there is no direct route to Skipton, people are having to go to Barnoldswick and change which seems a bit wrong considering that it used to be in Yorkshire, a lot of the older people are used to doing their weekly shop in Skipton as well as days out. It is not however the elderly that I feel most sorry for but the people who work in Skipton who live in Earby, it is adding on a hour and a half to their journey to work each day! And also the people that go to the schools and colleges, I know two people that have had to look at transferring to Nelson and Colne and Burnley because it is now more convenient which is ludicrous when you look at the geography. I have tried to speak to the bus company directly and have just had the response of 'we will adjust, bear with us' but it has got to the point where it is literally effecting people's lives in work and education and they are just ignoring everything that we have said.

I appreciate that they need to make cuts I honestly do but to cut a town off from a skipton, essentially cutting it of from Yorkshire just seems awful. I don't feel like a bus service to Manchester from Skipton is needed I really don't, their local city is Leeds which is a hour journey on direct bus or a 40 minute direct train journey so why would people go on a bus which realistically can take up to two hours! There was nothing wrong with the services in place before, it would be quicker for people to go to Manchester from skipton on the train and change at Leeds! I understand that cuts where needed but to me this just seems like a ego issue from privatised bus company rather than having customers needs in place, why not have buses to skipton in the morning and evening for the workers and school kids?
