We would like to remind everyone who has supported our campaign that on the 26th July 2017 at a full council meeting at the town hall Andrew Western Labour councillor submitted a motion against the closure of George Carnall and outlined its value and how essensial the centre was for the community and a recorded vote was called for. This resulted as follows : 51 councillors voted and of those 30 were Conservative councillors and everyone of them voted for the closure of the centre, now you would think that you could rely on your local councillors for their support but no we got the exact opposite no help whatsoever from them. The local local Conservative councillors that were present and voted for the closure were as follows : Flixton. Paul Lally, Vivienne Ward. Davyhulme West. June Reilly, Brian Shaw. Davyhulme East. Mark Cawdrey, Mike Cornes, now these two in particular should be ashamed to represent us as George Carnall is in this ward. Three other local Conservative councillors although not at the council meeting so therefore didn't vote but have also done absolutely nothing to help were : Flixton. Jonathan Coupe. Davyhulme west. John Reilly. Davyhulme East. Linda Blackburn. (George Carnall ward ) Its pretty obvious from this that if you want help with important issues in the community then you will not get it from a Conservative councillor.
