Traffic Safety Measures
Traffic Safety Measures
In the last 18 years I have witnessed multiple car crashes at the 3-way intersection of Country Club Road and Talamini Rd and this section of Country Club Road in Bridgewater, NJ. The last five years it has become progressively worse with speeders, along with disregarding signs, school buses, pedestrians, property etc. Living at this intersection was never this bad up until the last five years.
Last evening around 8:45pm, we had what appeared to be a freak accident and we are very worried about this man. He reminds us that accidents happen and should never be taken lightly.
We can't take back what happened to others, but we can take a stand to prevent the next tragedy from happening in our town.
Accidents are becoming a constant problem and the normal around here. From in our yards, taking out mailboxes, landing in trees on the hill, never yielding when we are turning into or out of our driveways, rolling through the stop sign or not stopping at all, not stopping for red light school buses, driving around stopped school buses and basically running us and others off the road on Country Club Rd.
We the Residents who live near this intersection and on Country Club Road and Talamini Roads are asking the town to install a blinking stop sign on Talamini Road/Country Club Road, A Dangerous Intersection warning (Red Blinking) sign further on Talamini Road alerting motorists to the dangerous intersection ahead and stop sign, a safety feature giving sight to cars that the road ends ( two additional street lights) one on light post on Country Club going North at the T and the other on the light post going North just after T (Opposite sides and not parallel.) More Police monitoring. Blinking intersection signs on Country Club from both directions warning of Intersection, guardrails if applicable at intersection defining the end of the road if all other options are exhausted. This whole swatch of CC and end of Talamini have no street lights.
Country Club Road (if applicable) reduce speed just before the Van Holten intersection to just after the Steeplechase intersection. Speed traps are needed within this area of excessive speed otherwise. The amount of speeding at this part of Country Club is excessive. Multiple complaints go unheard with the amount of speeding, passing red blinking buses, to getting almost ran off the road trying to turn in or out of our driveways and some folks doing at least more than one time the full speed limit. These are just some examples. This morning as some of us neighbors gathered, we witnessed at least three people going well over the speed limit in less than five minutes, two additional folks rolling through the stop sign like nothing.
This needs to stop! We need done to ensure now better traffic safety. With the number of drivers on the road in 2022 we need this to protect our families, our homes, our neighbors, and our pedestrian friends who frequent our sidewalks.
Many use this area to bypass the excessive traffic conditions on the 206 ramp. It is so they do not have to sit in bumper ro bumper traffic to cross 287.
Accidents happen, but carelessness is a danger to many of us. Please help us calm our roads.
