PETITION FOR A NEW TRADER JOES IN NEW LONDON CTY ALONG THE CONNECTICUT SHORELINE AREA! 

The Connecticut Shoreline has become a sought after location for many U.S. homeowners. Spurred by the recent COVID pandemic, families were attracted by the reasonable home prices, beautiful beaches, rivers & lakes, and leafy conservation areas. Many of the new population are NYC residents who were particularly enticed by the easy 2 hour car or train commute. Middlesex & New London Counties both offer easy 1 hr car & rail commutes to New Haven, Hartford, Newport RI, Providence & 2 hr commutes to Boston & Cape Cod. These new residents have also brought a healthy disposable income to the area. As a result, demand for popular & desirable conveniences is at all time high. Trader Joe’s is one of those sought after conveniences. Opened in 1967, the store quickly cultivated a broad customer base. With 488 stores and boasting a Fresh Farmers Market interior decor, it brings an array of desirable products. For the health-conscious, Trader Joe's offers a plethora of natural and organic products. For the bargain shopper, the store's low prices are especially appealing. The store's eco-friendly policies have the dual effect of being more sustainable and lowering costs for shoppers. This store offers smaller portions of their products which is attractive not only to Singles, Couples, but Small families, Empty Nesters & Retirees. With inflation at an all time high, consumers are looking for varied, top quality products at affordable prices. Trader Joe’s offers those products. They also offer items in small portions thereby helping reduce waste in our Communities & reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Currently there are 5 Trader Joe’s: 3 in Hartford, 1 South of New Haven, and 1 in Warwick RI. All of these are a 45 min drive for your average consumer in the New London CT area. There is an overwhelming majority of people that would like a Trader Joe’s along the CT shoreline.
