Humboldt county is home to those who thrive off of community values and ethically produced, good, honest food. Access to these things are available, but substantially limited due to the remoteness our beloved county. Introducing a Trader Joe's to the county of Humboldt will help extinguish the growing market of mass-produced, unsustainable goods that are affordable to the residents here, and replace it with affordable, right-minded food that is economically appealing to the working class population that makes up our community. We need businesses that offer the principles of which Trader Joe's builds its reputation upon; quality sustenance and core-beliefs of fair-trade, sustainable products that are attainable by-way-of working class wages. While recognizing the abundance of locally-originated commodities in Humboldt, we believe that a more fiscally-accessible source of food will greatly contribute to our society's merit.
