Shofer's Furniture at 930 S Charles is closing by the end of January 2021.  While it's a shame to lose a place that's been here for 104 years, it creates an awesome opportunity.

There's no grocery store within 3/4 of a mile from Cross St Market, despite how densely populated the area is.  There's not a single grocery store in Federal Hill, Sharp-Leadenhall, Riverside, Otterbein, or Ridgely's Delight.  We live in a great area, and we can easily walk to eat, drink, attend Ravens and Orioles games, go to church, go to the park, play beach volleyball, go to multiple museums or the aquarium, etc.  The only thing we can't do by foot is get groceries!

Trader Joe's is affordable enough to be accessible to the diverse population of South Baltimore.  Their stores are compact enough for a dense urban location like our neighborhood.  Their staffs are always friendly, and you can tell their employees like working there.  Trader Joe's is not just a grocery store, it is the right grocery store for the neighborhood.  We live in a pretty divided city, and we need more places like it.
