Palm oil plantations are respondsible for deforestation around the world and the decimation of the orangatan population.  Some plantations give a bounty to villagers that kill orangatans, as they are regarded as pests.  Palm oil is the cheapest edible oil on the planet, not healthy for humans but vital for the animals living in the rainforests.
