Trader Joe's brand tea bags are wrapped individually in plastic.  These small plastic wrappers are not recyclable.  In line with the company's recycling and environmental initiatives, these plastic wrappers could be replaced with paper packaging.  These would be recyclable, could be made of recycled paper themselves, and do not sacrifice the quality of the product.  Please join me in urging Trader Joe's to eliminate their plastic tea bag packaging in favor of a recyclable paper option.

It should be noted that:

• Plastic can take 1000+ years to decompose.
• Many plastics don't actually degrade, but instead simply break down into smaller plastic particles.
• Only about 25% of the plastic used in the U.S. is recycled.
