Trader Joe fanatics? Everyday Alaskans wanting competitive grocery options in Alaska?

The Issue

Having lived Outside for over a decade, I missed the mountains, the ocean, and the can-do attitude of Alaskans, but I did come to enjoy some of the benefits of city life.  One of those was the cost-competitive, healthy, and high quality offerings of Trader Joe's.  I - like many of you - travel with an empty suitcase to bring TJ's goodies home when I travel to the lower 48.  With a potential merger of Anchorage's two major grocery store chains, no time like the present to show Trader Joe's we are a city - nay a State - of motivated shoppers.  We need to show Trader Joe's we can meet and exceed their annual revenue requirements to persuade them that like Costco has experienced, there is tremendous opportunity in Alaska.  Like everything else in Alaska, Trader Joe's may have to be a little more creative and think outside of their corporate box to appreciate the potential.  In the meantime, would you PLEASE sign this petition and in the comments please indicate how much you pledge to spend monthly ($75/$150/$200/$250+) and your zip code so we can show TJs where the greatest demand is and the upside is here - if only they would give us a chance to shower them with business.  If you live in a small town or village outside Anchorage and only come to town occasionally, please just break down what your spend would be on average.  THANK YOU!!!

PS.  Please also consider going to Trader Joe's website to request they consider a store in Anchorage: https://www.traderjoes.com/home/contact-us/request-a-store AND post your TJ's receipts when you do purchase items outside on this Facebook page so they know how serious we are:  https://www.facebook.com/BringTraderJoesToAlaska
