Since March 2019, Trade Me has prohibited the sale of all semi-automatic firearms, including legal .22 rimfire rifles and shotguns. These firearms are commonly used in New Zealand for pest shooting, hunting, and target shooting. Trade Me represents the largest marketplace for used firearms in New Zealand, so their policy has severely limited the market for used semi-automatic firearms. Consequently, the number of firearms listed on Trade Me has dropped by at least 50% since they enacted their new policy. This has made it very difficult for people to buy and sell legal firearms through safe and legitimate channels.

Trade Me, please change your policy to allow the sale of all "A" Category firearms on your site as you did previously.
