Retailers are reinforcing the idea that certain toys are off-limits for girls or for boys. I've noticed for some time now that knitting, beading and sewing kits, for example, are marketed to girls only. (Pink fabric, beads and yarn, pink knitting needles & sewing machines, 'girly' accessories to be made and only modeled by girls.)

Craft kits are fun, educational, and encourages creativity. As a mom (who's an active crafter) to a boy, and an aunt to a nephew, I'd like to see more crafting kits geared to both boys and girls, especially considering how schools' art programs are underfunded - creativity can, at least, be encouraged at home for all genders.

Craft kits that are modeled by boys and girls, with a variety of colours would be greatly appreciated.
