Toyota Tundra 2022 + Intermittent Accelerator Hesitation & Surge

Toyota Tundra 2022 + Intermittent Accelerator Hesitation & Surge
The Issue
Owners of the Toyota Tundra Model Year 2022 to current have reported an intermittent accelerator hesitation condition, commonly followed by an acceleration surge. Hesitation from a complete or rolling stop has been reported and often is followed by an acceleration surge from the unresponsive vehicle.
Many owners have reported their first hand accounts to the NHTSA as well as Toyota Corp Brand Management and Toyota dealers across the nation. The spectrum of the accounts include nussiance behavior, near miss personal or property damage, as well accidents.
To date no official acknowledgement or cause of the problem has been given. Dealerships consistently deny that others have reported similar incidents, when owners approach them with this defect. Common action taken by dealerships to temporarily resolve the issue is to disconnect the battery terminal and allow the system to discharge. This remedies the problem for a short period, but eventually the defect or bug returns.
We the undersigned Tundra owners collectively wish to file this petition herein in order to attest to the size and scope of the above-mentioned safety defect or bug. We respectfully request transparency as to the root cause of the defect, as well as a timeline of when a permanent fix will be available.
