Freedom for Unity Township residents to have Backyard Chickens

Freedom for Unity Township residents to have Backyard Chickens
The Issue
We are in unprecedented times.
We have all gone to our local Grocery store egg aisle this year and saw empty or almost empty shelves.
Stores have run out of eggs and other proteins our community needs to survive. Protein our children need to grow and learn and become our future.
We have a solution to increase township revenues, reduce our dependence on Walmart and Giant Eagle and have great pets.
This year hundreds and maybe thousands of chickens have been brought into Unity Township. The township has no way to regulate or generate revenues from this revolution. Now it will.
We propose Unity township allow chickens but charge an annual $5 fee per chicken. This would generate much needed revenueS which have declined this year and allow our community to not just survive but thrive.
it was mandated in World War 2 to help the nation feed our fighters let’s get back to basics and beings chickens back to Unity Township.
Chickens make less noise than dogs
Unlike dogs their waste is the best fertilizer to grow their primary food..corn
More food
Less dependence on unreliable Big Grocers.
Happier families
Low cost: Chickens are they only pet that literally pay for themselves. The money invested in caring for them is returned in eggs.
$50 of chicken food per month delivers about ten dozen eggs. This would cost about $50 at Giant Eagle.
Better quality: Store eggs can be up to 60 days old and sold as “fresh”.
We are fighting not just for us but for all the other families that have and will welcome chickens to their backyards to be just a little less dependent on grocery stores and our commercial farming system.
