As a long time resident/taxpayer in the Town of Oyster Bay, I love and take pride in our community and enjoy the beautiful parks and beaches in addition to the homes, schools and lovely towns.  What has become an issue that impacts our environment, quality of life and preservation thereof, is the amount of trash seen EVERYWHERE! All long the roadsides, on town streets, blocks lined with homes, along the railroad tracks and outside of individual homes and storefronts, are mounds of non-biodegradable trash and litter.  Everyone has to become more accountable-residents, storeowners and the town employees! Perhaps more trash receptacles are needed. It would appear individuals toss trash out of their cars excessively rather than taking responsibility for disposing of it in such a way that does not esthetically and environmentally destroy our beautiful area.  It is disrespectful on ALL levels and demonstrates minimal pride in maintaining our environment.  Perhaps initiating stiffer fines for littering is required for homeowner’s and storeowners.  My goal is to bring awareness and action on the part of ALL stakeholders to initiate immediate change to clean up our Town of Oyster Bay today and in the future!
