Currently Mediacom is the only TV/Internet service provider in the development of Plantation Lakes. Mediacom service is spotty at best. It is difficult to work from home or school from home without reliable Internet. Opening up the development to another ISP would be great competition for Mediacom to not only strengthen their service but also give residence a choice and better pricing. During these Covid times it is important to have reliable Internet at home. I have spoke with the Town Manager Sheldon Hudson who informed me that the town has a contact with Mediacom but it is not exclusive. Meaning any other company may come in with their services. He has tried to contact Comcast but to no luck.
