REJECT the PROPOSED Modification of Deed Covenants and Restrictions Associated with TC 4726 to Construct 64 Apartments instead of 38 Single Family Attached Dwellings between Lincoln Ave. and the Sayville Motor Lodge, South Service Rd of Sunrise Hwy.
The Issue
- Proposed modification is NON-CONFORMING to our residential neighborhood and community. Too close to school zones/sports fields.
- ON SITE SEWAGE PLANT to be installed for 64 apartments!! SLUDGE will be required to be removed every 30 days!
- Environmental/Health concerns due to poorly planned proposed SEWAGE system.
- Residential roads CAN NOT sustain the SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE in traffic. Proposed apartment building is in CLOSE PROXIMITY to two Elementary Schools and one Middle School all of which have an ABUNDANCE of students walking to and from. This will present a MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD!
- Influx of students to our already crowded school district/classrooms.
- Market Value of residential homes will decline.
- Displacement of wildlife and destruction of wetlands.
- Proposed apartments were presented as "Luxury Apartments" with 20% of the 64 units designated as low income.
This project will have a negative impact on our neighborhood and community. The increased traffic will restrict families from enjoying walks to school, bike riding, walking, playing, etc. The smell of sewage every 30 days will polute our neighborhood.
