Referendums have been held in Goshen, NY on smaller projects will less of an impact for residents. The second largest Amusement Park developer in the World, Merlin Entertainments, is asking Goshen to ignore a law that Prohibits Amusement Parks in all districts of Goshen and create a new zoning district just on the 520+ acres they propose to buy to construct the North East Regional Mega Amusement Park with the Theme of Legos, called Legoland.

The site they have chosen is 100% with in a larger area identified in Goshens' Comprehensive Plan Documents as a "High Priority Area" one of only 5 High Priority areas identified in Goshen for it's significance as a "Biodiversity Area" More information on that can be found in this video.  

This is the biggest proposal in the history of Goshen, NY and the spot zoning proposed will irreversibly change Goshen, New York. Because of the irreversible impacts on TAXES, drinking water, air quality, traffic, effects on property values, historic charm and the cost of living in our area. The residents of the Town of Goshen deserve a vote on this project.
