Vote "No" to the new proposed Verizon Wireless cell tower on Lawrence Road

The Issue

Complete Wireless, on behalf of Verizon Wireless, is applying for a Land Use Permit DEV15-0003 (LUP) and Development Plan DEV15-0004 request to construct a 56 foot cell tower that would emit radio frequency energy to a high density residential area and within a very short distance of a preschool (Tassajara Learning Center - 1.5 miles), an elementary school (Creekside Elementary School - 2.3 miles) and middle school (Diablo Vista Middle School - 0.9 miles).  Not only would the new cell tower significantly reduce our property values, but it may also pose significant health risk to the families, particularly the children, who live and attend school within the area.  The City of Dublin recently denied a similar request from Verizon to install a cell tower in Sports Park Softball Field, close to a high density residential area and an elementary school.  At the very least, the Planning Commission should require Verizon to conduct a comprehensive study that examines the safety and health effects (both short and long term) of exposure to RF energy at not only the ground level, but also at the level of the antennae that will extend beyond the height of the tower and be on par with many of the residences within the area.  Please sign the petition and voice your objections to the Danville Planning Commission.
