Help stop corporate take over of small, family owned business

Help stop corporate take over of small, family owned business
The Issue
Formerly known as B-Kwik, the Sanborn Marketplace, a family owned and operated grocery store, has been the place for locals to go for all their consumer needs for many, many years, and it is now being shut down due to big business coming in and taking over.
The property that the Marketplace conducts business out of is owned by Benderson Development, and they have sold the lease to the property to Tops Friendly Markets behind the Marketplace's back. The location will be shut down by October 31 of 2015, and then converted into a Tops grocery store beginning December of 2015, and will not open until late March or April of 2016. This leaves the Sanborn community without a grocery store for about five or six months, leaving all the locals without reliable transportation out to dry. Many of the people of the Sanborn area walk to the businesses nearby, including the students of Niagara County Community College. These people will have nowhere to go for their consumer needs. The community wishes not to let corporate greed destroy their small town and needs all the support it can get to keep this store location in the hands of the small business owners.
Should this publicly run petition be a success, the Marketplace would be willing to conduct a store remodel and bring in things such as new floors and a newly renovated entryway which, as the community knows, are things that are needed. Please don't let big business win.
