Chad's Gap is a testiment to the current state of skiing and riding, mining history, and the town of Alta. Skiers and Snowboarders fly off a jump built in the snow going highway speeds pulling gold medal winning stunts of magic. Expansion into new terrain at Alta could see some areas reworked like the corkscrew project at Alta Ski Area where mining tailings were removed for more intermediate skiing experience. Everyone in the future should be able to ask "how do I get to chad's gap from the bottom of Alta" . 

The gap isn't in danger now, but who knows what the future holds with alta wanting to build a ski lift right here. If enough people care about a pile of gravel and dirt maybe it will stick around into the future.
