The purpose of this petition is to make the board members of the Town of Algoma aware that the citizens of our town do not want curb, gutter, sidewalks, or street lights added to any streets in the Town of Algoma, specifically on Leonard Point Rd. and Omro Rd. 
The cost of these conveniences are much too high for our small tax base. We are aware of the cost of doing these projects just on these roads will be millions of dollars which the town does not have, and we do not want to go into debt. This will also cost town citizens taxes to increase by several hundreds of dollars for the foreseeable future. Potentially taxing people out of their homes.
You are town board members, and have been elected to represent the needs and wants of the community. Overwhelmingly the population of this town does not want or need these things. 
As an alternative, that will save millions of dollars we ask that you consider walking or bike paths adjoined to the roads. We understand the roads need repair, however again there is no need for things such as curb, gutter, sidewalks, or streetlights. We bought property in this town knowing we did not have these “conveniences”, nor have we requested them. Please listen to us this time.
