The Issue

New Common Zonal Regulations proposed in the Urban Development Secretariat notification #UDD 6 TTP 2017, Dated 1-July’2017 & #UDD 25 TTP 2016, dated 6-July’2017 - allow commercial establishments (pubs, eateries, shops etc) on any 30ft wide road in any residential area.

This will completely destroy the residential living areas in Bengaluru, where traffic, civic amenities are already reaching critical stage.

These regulations are contrary to the principles enunciated in the various well established Supreme Court and High Court verdicts to protect residential neighborhoods and the need to clearly demarcate them from commercial zones.

I urge everyone who cares about Bengaluru and worries about where the city is heading to sign the petition.
