Dear Supporters
The BBC website has a good piece about Spiegelhalters here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-32900601
(Minor quibble - my understudying is that in China such hold-out structures are known as 'nail houses' not (as the article claims) because they are difficult to hammer into wood but because (obviously) they cannot easily be prised out of the plank.
The architects have yet to submit their revised plans and the campaign, while quiet at the moment, will continue until an acceptable proposal is made (and we're looking out for any vainglorious sculptural gestures). What happens to the void behind the facade is part of equal importance . . .
This update comes to you from the south of France, where the Spigelhalter Campaign has relocated (briefly, alas) to sunny Aix-en-Provence. Here, by the way, can be seen a rare example of Revolutionary architecture in the astonishing monument to Joseph Sec: http://www.aixenprovence.fr/Monument-Joseph-Sec. I've never seen anything remotely like this!
All the best, and thank you for your continuing support.
David
