Norsamelco, a local electric cooperative servicing the whole Province of Northern Samar, has been the subject of many complaints in the recent days.  The reasons range from poor utility quality as evidenced by intermittent service to high charges per kilowatt hour and allied charges, such as surcharges after due date which, to any consumer, are grossly exorbitant.

With the provincial government affirming the non-constitution of a board of directors, Norsamelco in collusion with the National Electrification Administration (NEA) takes each consumer’s neck of its whims and caprices.

This has to stop by installing the rightful BOD truly representative of the consumers’ welfare.  Norsamelco must be shielded from political weathering climate for it to uphold its rightful thrust of giving reliable service.

As a cooperative, it is foremost a conglomeration of representations for the general welfare.
