HOA Support To Inform Homeowners About The Impact of The Proposed Industrial Wind Turbines

The Issue

Very Important! You must include your lot number and your 911 Address, Property Owner's name and contact info for this petition to be valid!

Our goal with this petition is to get as many property owners of Towamensing Trails to request our Homeowners Association take further action to inform and educate the property owners in the community that are unaware of the proposed project and the likely impacts of the project on the enjoyment of our homes, the stability of our community in regards to maintaining property values, and the impacts on our water supply from the aquifers on Stony Mountain. We are asking for an informational mailing to go out ot our property owners and the formation of a committee to help supply information the Board of Directors. To the Board of Directors, please consider this petition and the hand writeen ones submitted along with it as our official request to obtain the above goals.

To the petition signers-you must put both your lot number, and the 911 address if the property has a home on it. Undeveloped lots (or properties) will just have the lot number, which is the last set of numbers in your county parcel/tax ID. If you are not sure of your tax id, you may obtain it at the public records section of the Carbon County website, www.carboncounty.com then click on public records and search. Our tax records all begin with 22A-51-XXXX; any numbers after the 51-are reflective or your lot number.

There are still many homeowners in our Community that do not have any idea regarding the proposed Wind Turbines that may go in behind our community on Stony Mountain Ridge. A foreign entity has applied for a zoning variance to install 37 Turbines that are 525 foot tall on this ridge. The property is also a source of aquifers, streams and creeks that currently have some of the most pristtine waters in the areas, supplying potable, quality water for people in our and surrounding communities. Not only will the drinking water be most likely impacted, the desecration of 290 acres of forestry to accommodate the turbines, their roadways and substation will destroy a most balanced environment, natural storm water control and the ecological food chain of this property. Property values within a 2 mile radius will most likely be impacted. There are documented health risks also attributed to living in the shadows of these turbines. The proximity to the nearest house and the required setbacks are not sufficient to allow the continued enjoyment of one's home in the shadows of these machines. The area that they wish to put the turbines is currently zoned for residential use.
