Tow Operators need Emergency Lighting

Tow Operators need Emergency Lighting
The Issue
TIMES HAVE CHANGED IN COLORADO!
We have seen our state explode in population and growth, which has since multiplied the amount of motorists on the road. In the Towing and Roadside industry, it has crested more revenue, which also brings us to more hazards. All Tow Operators and Roadside Assistance personnel have experienced close calls with motorists failing to slow down & move over. It feels like a mix between war zone, and real life frogger.
AMBER LIGHTING
Tow trucks, Roadside Assistance, construction, road maintenance, landscapers, and oversize load/heavy haul 18 wheelers are required to only have amber lighting. Some of these said vehicles are constantly running these lights while driving, which motorists are now immune to and disregard while stationary on the road.
EMERGENCY RESPONDERS!
Definition: "someone designated or trained to respond to an emergency."
If a motorist is stranded on the roadway, I believe it to be an emergency because life and property are deemed considered to be at risk.
TOW TRUCKS AMD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ARE DEEMED TO BE EMERGENCY RESPONDERS
Tow Operators and Roadside workers are risking their safety and lives to assist others on the roadway, yet credit is not given where it's due, here in Colorado.
Tow Trucks and Roadside Assistance need to be allowed to have red and blue lights illuminated WHILE STATIONARY on scene. I have seen and experienced it first hand that motorists better respect these light colors more than amber, all because they are immune on our State's roadway.
It's time we change requirements, as we have seen the change here in our great state. This change may save the lives of one of us getting struck and/or killed while assisting those in need.
