Constables Evan Glennie, Richard Rand, & Calgar Yigit have all been arrested by Police in Spain, who have also charged 2 of these Constables with Sexual Assault, and yet Toronto Police Services REFUSE to make a statement because these Constables were "off duty". This is yet another sickening example of how Police always protect their own even when their own FAIL to live up to the Ethics and Standards of Policing. It doesn't MATTER if these Constables were on duty or not; they are SUPPOSED to be held to a higher standard AT ALL TIMES and as they are PAID by taxpayers to Enforce the Law, they MUST always OBEY the law, NO MATTER WHERE NO MATTER WHEN. Demand that Toronto Police Services DO BETTER and MAKE A STATEMENT about the UNLAWFUL behaviour of these 3 Constables and also provide DETAILS to the public as to what the next steps will be. We, the Citizens of Toronto, MUST BE ASSURED the the men and women who work for us to uphold the law are NOT BREAKING laws themselves, NO MATTER WHERE NO MATTER WHEN. "OFF DUTY" does NOT absolve these Constables of their sickening and unlawful behaviour. As Officers of the Law, they are AMBASSADORS of this City and it is COMPLETELY unacceptable they MADE THE CHOICE to break the law. Thankfully the Police Force in Spain is doing their job; DEMAND that Toronto Police Services DO THEIR JOB!
