We, the residents and users of Blenheim Road, St Dials Ward, Cwmbran, request the installation of Chicanes on Blenheim Road.

Since the installation of speed bumps on Greenmeadow Way, Blenheim Road is being used as a route to bypass them.  

With the School entrance on the bend of Blenheim Road, the vehicles parking outside the shops and the newly build houses (that have increased traffic even more), we are experiencing near misses on a weekly basis.

The most recent involved a car being forced to mount a pavement & grass area at high speed.  Had this been at school opening or closing times, severe injury or death could have occured. 

This is one of the very few schools that does NOT have a lowered speed limit on its main road.  Neither does it have any form of traffic calming.   

Why are we overlooked?

We demand action be taken by Torfaen Council and request Chicanes now be installed to reduce the speed and save the lives of our children & neighbours.
