The Issue
DoorDash has taken my money and treated me as if it was my fault or the restaurants fault too many times. Customer support will refund you but you can only spend it in the app with another purchase of course and that is if you even get a refund.Have you ever noticed that you dont actually get your money back which to me means we as the customers are essentially keeping this business alive .their is money going into this business and from what I can see not a single 100% or even 90% satisfied customer not one..this is because we have all almost had the same experience you order items are missing you contact support and they "refund" you almost automatically but it's more of a store credit. This has happened to me plenty of time and as a family of 4 soon to be a family of 5 in 1 month its becomes extremely frustrating when you cant go out as a family because of covid and you trust this app with your money and just about everytime you order one of us is without our meal or just disappointed cause not everyone is getting to enjoy what you have already paid for. It just seems crazy that from the restaurant to the driver to my home they constantly forget something. So I began calling the restaurants to find out if the driver has left anything from my specific purchase or is the restaurant forgot to add items to the meal and everytime they would say we gave whatever item it would be to the driver.which banks the question well why didn't the driver give it to me. This driver actually told me it's fine they always do this to people the app will refund you.and he got upset when we reported the issue to Doordash. He called my Children's dad and basically confronted him while he was on his way home.which is good because if I had heard that I would've chewed his ear off through the phone its beyond disrespectful and inappropriate because we only told DoorDash support items were missing and the restaurant confirmed it as picked up we never said in the moment he was stealing so to get so defensive made us wonder quite a bit.After that he ended up delivering to us the next day and it was clear he purposely did not give us all the items. I reported to doordash and they stopped accepting any cards for purchases on my account as if it was my fault. My Family then began using Uber eats which is amazing we never have items missing food is always hot and fresh and the drivers are wonderful...until last night when we ordered applebees a mean for me my boyfriend and 1 for both of our daughters. All of us were missing a drink .so I called the restaurant and they confirmed the order and the drinks were not forgotten but given to the driver which we kinda already knew.So this Morning I got on Facebook and went to Doordash Facebook account and discovered literally hundreds of stories just like mine and nothing is being done some customers have felt robbed,some felt discriminated against because of their race and others just dont say anything because they know nothing will be done and this company is benefiting from it.from our silence. This ends now they are no longer going to be able to blame the businesses for missing items which also makes the restaurants look bad.We need to stand up to DoorDash and Fight for this because it will not stop if we do.Doordash Support should have to find out why the items are missing whether the restaurant or driver and .once that is found out drivers should be penalized after 2-3 customers report items missing.and an actual refund should be issued.
