Our lovely seafront cinema has now closed and the last screenings have taken place. More and more people are joining the campaign and there are a growing list of questions for PACL about their record to date in managing our Pavilion and their ability to find a way forward. Clearly from the countless comments on this petition site people have been using the cinema and want it to continue. Here's just one recent example of a comment left by a local Penarth lady :- 'Like many others, I love the whole experience of watching films in this particular cinema. There's nothing nicer than a summer evening stroll to the esplanade, a bite to eat and a good film in that lovely building its "magic". Closing the cinema, in particular, is an insult to all the hard work that went into creating it in the first place. The cinema is unique - I find it hard to believe the reasons given for closing it down for summer particularly when the rest of the pier will remain open for part of the week?? This makes no sense at all to me.' Clearly there needs to be a way forward with an open dialogue with people in Penarth I have today written to the Head of the Heritage Lottery Fund in Wales - one of the main funders for the project and by all accounts now hold the primary charge on the Pavilion
